You can't look at abstract art without thinking. (Patricia Cole-Ferullo)

For ART200, I continued my practice from ART246, developing my ideas and knowledge. Collaboration was a large part of this module, working with fellow student Sophie Gibbons. I found that working together had many benefits, most of all, the motivation we both had, we didn’t want to let the other person down, so because something was at stake, our productivity increased. This enabled us to finish our large-scale piece ‘Work Both Ways’. During this module, my imagination certainly broadened. I began thinking about the background, not just the figure or creature, rather than merely creating an abstract colour background, I again used my small illustrative tattoo designs as inspiration to create mountains, forested areas, and even floating worlds. Towards the end of this module, I also began to create my own mythical creatures, inspired by Steven Campbell. However I did not have the time to move these designs to a largescale, but I plan to continue this practice into my third year.

Beauty without vanity
